June Days: Events in City Centre Park

Summer is finally on the way, and you and your family are probably looking for a few new, fun things to do in Yorkton!

Yorkton Business Improvement District (YBID) has been busy putting together a fantastic schedule of events to occur in City Centre Park. Take in one or take in all of them! The schedules are jam packed and look to be a LOT of fun!

Bring your smiles, bring your thirst for adventure, bring your family and bring along what you need for a great time out-doors!

Thursday, June 2 2022 : All Canadian!!

This event runs from 4pm to 7:30pm and everyone is invited!

Thursday, June 9 2022: An Evening in the Philippines.

This event runs from 4pm to 7pm - officially. This one should be a blast! You may have noticed a lot of new community members in town that claim the Phillipines as their cultural touch stone. This event is a wonderful opportunity to learn more, enjoy the renowned Phillipine hospitality, vibrant family and community minded culture and attitude! Come on down and travel through a full and rich Filipino experience. Prepare to have fun!

4pm to 7pm: Food (Phillipines traditional and inspired food brought to you by YBID business Chester's Chicken)

Thursday, June 16 2022: Celebrate Ukraine!

This event runs from 4pm to 7pm. Anyone who has been in Yorkton or lived in Yorkton and the surrounding region for more than a week, knows the Ukrainian community in Yorkton is huge, vibrant and supportive. Given the current circumstance of the Ukrainian nation, and the wealth of community support that community has thrown into making Yorkton a great place to live & work - come on down and celebrate everything Ukrainian (and everything Yorkton by extention)!

Tuesday, June 21, 2022: National Indiginous Peoples Day

This event occurs regionally and locally at multiple times and locations. National Indiginous Peoples Day (once known as National Aboriginal Day) is observed on 21st June and marks the summer solstice. This date was chosen to reflect the spiritual importance of the summer solstice to all of the indigenous peoples of Canada. This event is the perfect opportunity to come and learn more about our Indiginous neighbours all around us. The event should be busy and lively. From cultural stories, dance, song, moments of reflection - it would be well worth the time spent!

Thursday, June 23, 2022: Holi Holi! An East Indian Evening

This event runs from 4pm to 7pm. You may have heard or participated in "Color" runs, but do you know where that fun idea came from? It came from our wonderful East Indian neighbours! Holi is a very popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as the Festival of Spring, the Festival of Colours or the Festival of Love. The festival celebrates the eternal and divine love of Radha Krishna. Come on down and have some wholesome Holi fun!

Thursday, June 30, 2022: All Canadian Day: Part Deux

This event runs from 4pm to 7pm. We don't want to cramp the Canada Day Festivities in any way, so we thought a warm up event would be fantastic - EH? So come on down and have some family fun in the heart of our fair city. Come down and enjoy some Canadian food, some Canadian tunes!
